I decided to do a 365-day Bible reading plan this year and love this journey with Jesus. Today I am looking back on Genesis 1-11 notes from my year. Never in a million years did I think that doing a 365-day Bible reading plan would have such a big impact on my Faith journey as it has. If you’re looking to kick-start your Bible study habit into full throttle I recommend doing a 365-day plan.
I also would like to recommend looking into Heart Dive Ministry. You can find them on Instagram, and YouTube. For the life of me, I can’t remember how I stumbled upon Heart Dive at the end of last year, but I am so very thankful I did. If you’re looking for community, accountability, and some great commentary on the Bible I would look into Heart Dive. You won’t regret it.
Genesis 1-11 Notes
Before getting into Genesis I created a vellum page that described the Old Testament, when it was written, etc., and listed all the books that are included in it.

Table of Contents
Below is specific information about Genesis. Most of this information was little bits from all my many Bibles and research of Genesis.

Some of what Heart Dive Ministry talks about is looking for God in different places in the Bible. She calls them the heartbeats of God, these are some of the heartbeats I found in the first parts of Genesis. You will see many of these little tip-ins throughout my Bible.

When I study the Bible I tend to dive in deep and dig even deeper. I want to understand every piece of Scripture I read, I want to swallow every bit of everything I read about God. I honestly can’t get enough, sometimes I have to walk away a couple of days for it all to sink in. My note-taking will show how deep I can dive into His Word. It’s not a bad thing, right?
More of My Genesis 1-11 Notes

There’s another Heartbeats of God page. As you can see I highlight and underline in my Bible. My highlighting helps me piece together a group of scriptures that seem to fit together. And the underlined bits are pieces of Scripture that are important to me, or they jumped out at me. I often use different versions of the Bible and many commentaries to thoroughly understand the little bits I’ve underlined.
I am also a very visual learner so studying the Bible and note-taking this way helps it all sink in. Not to mention that one of my God-given gifts is creativity which is why you see little doodles and stickers in my Genesis 1-11 notes.

Final Thoughts on My Genesis 1-11 Notes
As I stated above, this is my first time doing a 365-day Bible Reading Plan. I knew wanted to do one, but also knew I needed a community to do it with. When I stumbled upon Heart Dive 365 I knew then I found my community and I am grateful every day for them. If you are looking to do this type of study I suggest looking into them.
My Bible Study journey has become a big part of my everyday life, and on the days I just can’t get to it I feel like something is missing. I am so very thankful for all that Jesus has shown me this year, and I am already looking forward to what’s in store for years to come.
